    Teaching American History for All: Changing Definitions  in Citizenship in
    American History. Revised Grade 8: Art Inquiry and added a Teacher Guide.
  • Wrote Teacher Guide specific to 5th, 8th & 11th grade standards for U. S.
    History. [In progress] Created format to add other grades.
  • Modified and added to Grade 8: Art Inquiry
  • Focus Question: How do you look at art to discover its meaning?
  • Unit/Lesson Working Thesis: Reading a work of art can involve
    considering the artist’s creative intent, its historical context and its intended
    audience. Other considerations might include the artwork’s place in the
    artist’s oeuvre and its place within an art movement.

    Building Blocks for Kids at Peres Elementary School in Richmond, CA
    organized by the Richmond Art Center. I taught a week long workshop on
    bookmaking for 25 2nd & 3rd grade students.

2007
    Books Arts Demonstration at Alameda Literati I showed and discussed my
    nearly complete book The Last Monkey.

    Papier-Mâché Sculpture at the Paper Art Workshop to accompany Paper Cuts
    (a traveling exhibition) at the Hearst Art Gallery, Saint Mary's college of
    California. [1 day workshop - 50 students - Ages 8 to 70]
